1. General Information about Hoian
TourismHoian is a city of Quang Nam province, about 30 km south of Da Nang city. With favorable geographical and climate factors, Hoian was once an important international trading port of merchant ships from Japan, China and the West during the 17th and 18th centuries. Ancient documents of the West, Hoian used to be called Faifo. Hoian ancient town has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. Hoian tourism is on the rise and become a major tourist attraction in Vietnam.
2. Climate and the best time to travel
In Hoian the weather is divided into two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. The dry season starts from January to July, the rainy season is from August to December. The truth is that every season of Hoian tourism has its own interesting things. However, the ideal time to go to Hoian is:
- February to April: cool weather, pleasant and without rain.
- May to July: Ideal weather to explore Cua Dai beach, Cu Lao Cham island and beaches in Da Nang
- October to December: the rainy season, the rains will affect your trip, but this is also the season of the Thu Bon river rising, the old town flooded, the people have to travel by boat. This is also a very interesting experience in Hoian.

- Planes: The nearest airport to Hoian is Da Nang International Airport (Hoian is 30 km from Danang). Currently airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar, Vietjetair have operated flights from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Da Nang. Besides, there are many International Airlines have flights to Danang. Thanks to that, Danang has become an interesting place of international tourists.
- Train: From Hanoi or Saigon has a train route to Da Nang, which takes 14 to 20 hours.
- Cars, Vans, Buses are available and convenient to go from all provinces to Hoian (from 18 hours to 20 hoursL from Hanoi / Saigon to Da Nang).
- Because the transit point to Hoian is currently mainly in Da Nang. From there you can catch a bus / taxi to Hoian conveniently.

5. Famous tourist spots in Hoian
Location: The bridge crosses the the Thu Boc river bordering the road between Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street and Tran Phu Street.
Hoai River (the middle of the ancient town) is a should-visit place in Hoian. In the evening, tourists can take boats to feel the night time of the place and enjoy the charming sceneries of Hoai Riversides. At that time, you can drop flower garlands - coloured lanterns into the river and make a wish for you and your family.
Lantern Town is a special place in Hoian. Tourists can see many colorful lanterns and lantern-decor styles in every Hoian’s corner.
Hoian alley is an interesting place for those who would like to take cooling pictures. In fact, it is really easy to find a small alley in Hoian ancient town. Yellow wall with Confetti flower is an impressive symbol of Hoian. It is also a great place to have lots of amazing photos.
Phuc Kien (Fukian) Assembly Hall: the precursor of the Assembly Hall was a small shrine worshiping the Thien Hau Thanh Mau statue (the goddess blessing for merchants who came here to do business).

Cua Dai Beach is a beautiful beach with white sand, clear - cool water and fresh seafood (available at cheap prices).
Location: 5 km from Hoian Ancient Town to the east.

Location: Located in Cam An ward, located about 3 km from the center of Hoian Ancient Town to the East.
Cu Lao Cham is the island with wild and rustic beauty.
Thanh Ha Pottery Village: In the 16th and 17th centuries, Thanh Ha was a very prosperous village, famous for its pottery. Products are mainly used for daily life such as cups, bowls, jars, vases, flower pots… with many styles and colors. Thanh Ha pottery is lighter than other local products.
