Sapa is one of the interesting tourist destinations attracting many tourists, especially foreign tourists. While Sapa is increasingly developing tourism, there are many bad issues that make people heartbroken. One of the problems is child labor: force children to make money.

They sell silver bracelets, brocade bags, keychains…all time, even less than 5 degree. Towards to the difficult situations, tourists sympathize for these kids so even if they do not buy goods, they still give the kids some changes. Understand these cases, many parents have forced children go out and sell some souvenirs to make money.
In fact, the lives of people in Sapa are still difficult. However, children also need to have a healthy life, a chance to go to school; and Sapa also needs to be a more developed and civilized tourist destination. The child protection agencies in Sapa district need to take actions to stop the problem as soon as possible.
Besides, despite sympathizing these kids, tourists should sympathize properly to help protect the children’s rights. It means that not buying goods and not giving money to children are to protect these kids out of child labor situation and go back to their childhood and their education environment. Not buying goods, not giving money to them is contributing to pulling them out of the vicious cycle of backward poverty. That is a good solution for the sustainable development of the community in Sapa.

Children are the world’s future, so protecting children means that we are protecting our own future. Although some people said that the appearance of pretty ethnic kids with colorful clothes partly contributes on attracting tourists to Sapa, Vietnam Scenery we totally disagree the idea because children needs protecting to healthily grow up and develop.
